So I went to Mexico over Spring Break and it was such a great experience. What I didn't know was how good of a cultural experience it was. The past years when I had gone to Mexico I had not taken and Spanish classes so I couldn't really understand much. This time it was different. I understood the stuff going on around me and I could understand the things people were saying to me. Going into the town off cabo was a lot more enjoyable because I could read the menus and information. A really cool thing our hotel did was set up a fiesta night for all the guest. They had all these vendors come by selling handmade crafts and silver jewelry items. At first my friend and I were a little nervous about the whole bargaining thing, but in the end it all worked out and we got a pretty good deal. Before this dinner was served and it was all classic Mexican food like tortilla soup, enchiladas, and different kinds of meat they would cook right in front of you. It was awesome. Dessert was my favorite because they had classic Mexican hot chocolate and rice pudding in those really cool clay bowls. To end it all there was an amazing firework show right over the ocean and reflecting off the pool. I had a blast and I felt like I was at a real fiesta. It will definitely be something I don't forget. I'm definitely happy about taking Spanish class because I know find it very helpful.
